Our newest fundraiser! This is meant to be a fun bonspiel, open to anyone who plays the sport, or is interested in trying the sport for the first time. The bonspiel consists of 2 games plus dinner. More information to come soon!

MS Society ‘Italian Night’ - January 14th, 2011

With past themes being , ‘The Soprano’s’ and ‘The Godfather’, this night is a sell out each year! Our chapter has great support for this event, Perkins Rona Home Centre is our main corporate sponsor supported by Seaway News and Corus Entertainment.

‘Italian Night’ is held at the Royal Canadian Legion in mid January of each year.

In addition to a delicious Italian meal, there is a live band for the night playing 50’s & 60’s music called ‘The Fabulous Edsels’ and indeed they are fabulous.

The next ‘Italian Night’ will be held on January 14th, 2011, tickets are available after Christmas each year. Hope to see you there!!!!

Run to endMS - April 23th, 2011

Already in it’s 10th year, over 500 runners from many parts of Ontario, Quebec, northern New York state and Michigan take part in a 5K, 10K or 1/2 marathon to support our local chapter.

The event takes place on the bike path running along the beautiful St. Lawrence river in Cornwall.

The run is designed as a training run for many who plan to run in the Ottawa marathon. There is a huge contingent of runners in the Cornwall area that take part to support our chapter; as well as, great corporate sponsorship of this event.

Our 10th annual run this year will be on, Saturday April 23th, 2011, taking place once again at St. Lawrence college, Cornwall campus.

Race director is Pat Clarke.

MS Society Carnation Campaign - May 6th and 7th, 2011

This is the 34th annual campaign of selling carnations to raise money for the MS Society and at the same time on Mother’s Day weekend, show someone you care.

Our chapter does mostly pre sales and home delivery on the Friday and Saturday of this weekend, so call the office and get your order in today. We also do encourage pick ups at our office, we have extended office hours to facilitate this.

Some schools and organizations contact us with orders as well. This year in addition to providing bouquets of carnations for $10, we are also selling potted mini carnations for $5.

The Carnation campaign weekend this year will be held on May 6th and 7th, 2011 lead by Lori Pearson-Morgan.

St Hubert Golf to endMS - June 17th, 2011

This is the 28th annual golf tournament to support the MS Society of Canada - Cornwall & District Chapter. The tournament, the brain child of Ray Lalonde, began as a small fundraiser and has grown to an event that local golfers enthusiastically await. This year’s tournament has changed to a ’scramble’ format from last year’s ‘best ball’.

There is a ‘arms length’ committee who build up to the big day each year by contacting team captains, hole sponsors and other corporate sponsors to make the tournament the great success it has been for many years. The event takes place at the Summerheights Golf links where approximately 260 golfers enjoy a day to support the MS Society.

Golfers then head to the Cornwall Civic Complex for a wonderful meal provided by St Hubert (dessert provided by M&M Meat Shops), with trophies and prizes for many golfers.

The 27th annual golf tournament takes place on Friday, June 17th, 2011. For information please8contact Bill Makinson.
